  • BBC's attention has been drawn to various news stories and social media comments concerning its staff Surendra Phuyal's alleged extra-marital relationship. The matter is in court at the moment and we are not in a position to comment. BBC will also not interfere in its staff's personal matters.

    बीबीसी नेपाली सेवाका कर्मचारी सुरेन्द्र फुयालको भएको भनिएको गैरवैवाहीक सम्बन्धका बारे विभिन्न समाचार माध्यम र सामाजीक संजालहरुमा भएको चर्चाप्रति बीबीसीको ध्यान आकृष्ट भएको छ। यो सम्पूर्ण प्रकरण अहिले अदालतमा विचाराधिन रहेकोले यस विषयमा हामी कुनै टिप्पणी गर्न सक्ने स्थितीमा छैनौं। र, आफ्ना कर्मचारीको नीजी मामिलाहरुमा बीबीसीले हस्तक्षेप गर्ने गर्दैन।

    • Pramod Ghimire BBC Nepali's comment is acceptable. It shows how well they respect their staff's personal life. They don't want to interfere in their staff's personal life. If that affair will hamper BBC's everyday life, maybe then he will have to resign on his own. That is what happened in Khan's case. He was not forced to resign. He resigned himself. I don't think he was instructed by IMF to resign. And IMF also did not interfere in Khan's case.
    • Pramod Ghimire @Dinesh Luitel: Kantipur fm thought that it could hamper their broadcasting when they fired her(Namrata Shrestha). If Kantipur fm would had been a better employer , they should not have fired her. A good employer has to stand by their staff. In that case also they should have said that they will never divulge into the private matter of their staff. That should had been the case. I have a huge respect for BBC Nepali sewa again for standing by the side of their employee.

      त्यसैले, यस विषयलाई अनावश्यक रुपमा BBC र रविन्द्र मिश्रसँग जोडेर नहेर्न सबै मित्रहरुलाई अनुरोध छ।
    • Pramod Ghimire @Chin Cabrido: I read the story in the webpage given above. And also read the clarification form Surendra at the end. If you prove in the court for the allegations against him, i will stand by your side.In that case, BBC has to fire him to keep what they preach.
    • Sujan Shrestha This is really a sexual violence and abuse by the person who is working in a reputed news agency...This is like a 'White color crime' so the BBC most know about that . The BBC is good all over the world broadcasting real and true story...it should not be bias specifically in the women case who are most vulnerable ...most raise the voice of Chin Cabrido. It will make the image more higher of BBC and will able get moral support from all women around the world...so this the real time for take action against who is responsible to do like this activity whoever and to raise the voice in the side of the victim.

    • Pramod Ghimire @Surendra Tumkhewa Limbu: He will be definitely fired if it is proved. BBC Nepali will not stand by him at that point of time if he is found guilty by the court.But we can not blame BBC Nepali sewa for not firing him at this point of time.

    • Pramod Ghimire @Chin Cabrido: I read the above link(i did not know about it). what he did is not ethical if it was interviewed by surendra phuyal(i could not determine if it was written by him from the link above though). If he was the one who interviewed his own wife, he should apologize publicly(if he has not done until now). And BBC Nepali should investigate about it and they should take action against him/(or anyone who did this since they can not put the view of the relative of their staff in their website, changing name and doing stuff like that is plagiarism).I stand by your side in this case.
